Three states, not two. The link between a table and a house is recorded as confirmed (46), confirmed standalone (20) or not yet checked (75). Collapsing the last two into one loses the difference between a house that has no restaurant and a house nobody has looked at — and that difference is the whole value of the field.
Perimeter. The guide's Swiss selection is wider than the country: one table sits in Vaduz, Liechtenstein. It is kept, flagged, and excluded from every cantonal total. One further table was awarded a star on 20 October 2025 and had it withdrawn the following day because the establishment had closed; it is not listed as starred here.

A demotion is a signal too, particularly for a dining room inside a hotel: it usually means the kitchen changed hands. Every entry carries the year of the change, because a loss without a date is unusable.
