The Shinkansen reaches only Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto; the Sapporo extension has slipped and is not a factor for the coming seasons. The practical entry is New Chitose, then 70 minutes by ground to Niseko and about two hours to Furano. Build slack into winter transfers: pass closures are routine, not an emergency.
